Taylor & Joe Engagement Session

Taylor & Joe’s engagement session was done at Cheesequake State Park in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Cheesequake Park is one of those locations that is perfect any time of year. It is filled to the brim with scenic views, hiking trails, saltwater and freshwater, and tons more. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic picnic, leisurely walk, kayaking trip, and, of course, a photoshoot!

Being that it was the end of summer, a lot of mosquitoes joined our session that day but it was totally worth it in the end! The ethereal lighting from the setting sun gave the photos that airy and delicate look that I love so much.

Joe and Taylor mentioned how much they love a rustic atmosphere with outdoor elements. This was their prime reason for choosing Skyview Golf Club in Sparta, New Jersey as their future wedding venue. I wanted to capture as much of that style as possible. The natural woodsy elements found in this park were ideal for them!

We took some photos with Joe and Taylor strolling and dancing along tree-lined pathways, lakeside, and on a picturesque balcony overlooking the marshes.

In addition to hearing about their love story, I really enjoy getting some details from my couples about their process of choosing an engagement ring. Taylor said her ring is a solitaire round lab grown diamond with a hidden halo and pave diamonds along the band. She mentioned that her and Joe looked at rings together so he could get an idea of what she liked but, ultimately, the final product was a mystery until he proposed in Mexico in 2021! I think it is so special when your future spouse is able to choose the perfect ring while still keeping it a surprise.

Taylor and Joe are genuinely such a down to Earth couple and I am beyond thrilled to photograph their wedding next in August of 2023!
