Wedding Day Walkthrough

Planning your wedding is an exciting process where all your creativity and lifelong dreams can come to life. But as magical as it is, it’s also an extensive process that can sometimes seem overwhelming. This comprehensive guide of tasks and checklists can serve as a manual to ensure that your big day goes as smoothly as possible.

As your photographer, I will be by your side throughout the entire day, arguably more than your husband or wife to be. It is my job to capture all your most precious moments and structure your timeline. Here’s what I might need from you in order to make that possible!

First, I start the day by arranging a flat lay. This is a spread of all the small details and accessories that you hold sacred and symbolize the bond between you and your partner.

Bridal details can include, but are not limited to:

Feel free to screenshot this list and use it to help prepare all the necessary items for the perfect detail photos!

Next, we move on to bride prep! This is your time to have fun with all your closest friends. Once your hair and makeup are done, we get the party started! There are so many ways to make these photos personalized to you and your group of friends. Before you start searching on Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest for ideas, here’s a list of tips that will photograph best!

Get matching outfits for your bridal party to make the photos cohesive. These can be as comfortable or as glamorous as you want! Matching pajamas, sweat suits, or custom outfits all do the trick! Get a white outfit for yourself that stands out amongst the rest, but still matches your chosen theme.

Then, props are your best friend! Cute champagne glasses…and of course a few bottles of champagne! One to pop and a few more to actually drink. If you’d like something else to pop, confetti is always an amazing option…although I can’t promise it’ll make less of a mess (haha)!

Then of course, we can’t forget about the boys! Your husband might not have as much jewelry, but his accessories as just as important for the photos! This is the perfect checklist for everything he needs to bring for the photographer.

Now the guys may not want to frolic around in matching pj sets, but that doesn’t mean their photos should have any shortage of fun props to spice up their suits! Sunglasses, hats, cigars, and even silly socks are great additions to complete the groomsmen’s outfits!

Lastly, we move on to family portraits. Whether your family is big or small, organizing everyone for photos and making sure nobody is left out is a very important part of the day.

If you have any specific family shots you want done, definitely let your photographer know ahead of time! This way, we can make note of it and all your family members will have a picture to remember your special day.

One of my biggest goals is that every significant element of your day is caught on camera. Planning these tiny elements ahead of time and coming prepared is the best way to guarantee this! With the help of these checklists and tips, you’ll be sure to have the most exquisite end results and commemorative photographs.
