Brooks Newborn Session

Our session today took place in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. I had already met Sarah and Brenden a few months prior when I did their maternity session in LBI and I was so excited to work with them again, along with their new addition to the family. I love being able to see the transformation of parents-to-be that are now in full mom and dad mode.

At the start of the session, I was so surprised to see that baby Brooks had a full head of hair! Sarah told me she had a lot of heartburn during her pregnancy, which is a very common indicator that your baby will have lots of hair! We were able to get plenty of photos of his luscious locks, as well as some with cute little hats and bonnets on his head.

Once again, to my surprise, Brooks didn’t wake up at all throughout the entire session! Typically, we have to feed the baby a few times or soothe them to sleep but Brooks was out cold. Even when we transferred him onto a miniature bed for photos with his dad’s police gear on, he slept right through it all. I love being able to pay homage to a family profession and I could tell Brenden was very proud to see his baby boy representing him in that way.

Sarah had a great idea of a picture she wanted to recreate ahead of time, with her hands, her husband’s hands, and the baby’s hands all overlapping. I love being able to make my clients visions come to life and I always welcome suggestions when it comes to taking new photos! Not only does it help get my creative juices flowing but it also makes the photos feel even more personal to each specific client.

Lastly, we took some family photos towards the end that included their two fur babies! To me, pets are equivalent to family members so it’s only right to get a full family shot at the end of your session. Even if that means letting the dogs hop right onto the bed!
