Ellie & Cillian Newborn Session

I am beyond excited to share yet another newborn twins session! But this time I was lucky enough to photograph a boy and a girl! Ellie and Cillian are the dreamiest little pair of siblings with an incredible family. I visited their home in Somerville, New Jersey for a session just in time for the holidays.

Their parents, Kara and Steven, are such an adorable couple who met at a bar in college and have been together ever since. This session was a family affair, as Steven’s parents came all the way from Ireland to partake! Kara’s mom got some amazing shots with her grandchildren as well. Even though Kara’s father unexpectedly passed away before the babies were born, we were able to honor him by photographing the twins with a feather ornament she got in remembrance of him.

Their home was decorated so beautifully and made it so easy to get incredible pictures with all the relatives as well as plenty of cute shots in their Aussie outback themed nursery.

Ellie and Cillian naturally gravitated towards each other throughout the entire session. They loved being cuddled up in each other’s embrace. As soon as I wrapped them in their color coordinated swaddles they were so peaceful and serene. We were able to photograph the babies in three different poses and a total of four outfits! They were so calm and barely fussed at all.

I could tell they were not fans of the cold because they were both much happier when dressed in warm little hats and bonnets. Luckily this was the perfect attire for a winter session and will look absolutely adorable on this year’s Christmas cards!

As always, I am blown away by the bond between newborn twins and I have the best time putting siblings in all these little poses. It is so special to be born with a built-in best friend and I love that I was able to capture that for such a loving family!
