I know having your photos taken can feel a little intimidating, and planning for your engagement session can sometimes feel overwhelming - which is exactly why I created this guide. Consider this your starting point, and know I’m always here if you need help with outfits, styling, or any questions along the way!

Choosing Outfits

|

  • COLORS | Keeping your outfits neutral ensures your gallery will feel timeless for years to come. I always recommend softer, lighter tones and avoiding heavy patterns or ultra-bright, bold colors. Some examples I love are white, tan, beige, and pastels like dusty blue, blush, and pale green.

  • VARY THE SHADES | When choosing outfits with your partner, you want the colors to coordinate, but not actually “match.” For example, if one person is wearing a white flowy dress, the other could wear tan pants and a muted blue shirt!

  • DECISION FATIGUE | Choosing 1-2 outfits can feel so overwhelming at times, and I’m always here to help! Feel free to text or email me with any questions - or even just to get my opinion!

Things to Remember

|

  • POCKETS | Empty your pockets prior to the session - you don’t want phones, keys, or wallets showing through clothing in your photos.

  • CHANGING CLOTHES | Most couples choose 2 outfits for their session - typically one casual and one more formal. While having a restroom nearby is always helpful, more often than not clients do a quick outfit change in their car! If you’re planning on bringing 2 looks, reach out beforehand so I can help decide which outfit is best to start with.

  • CHAMPAGNE | Totally optional, but such a fun way to end your session! Feel free to bring a bottle of champagne and two glasses to celebrate

  • DEEP BREATHS | I’ll guide you every step of the way, so don’t worry about “feeling awkward” in front of the camera. Make this a fun date night - and maybe even plan a romantic dinner afterward to celebrate
